AGM report 2026

G3 Club AGM – 29 September 2026

The G3 Club held its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, 29 September 2026, where members discussed the club’s finances, committee, membership fees, constitution, club conduct and plans for the future.

Committee

The AGM began with the election of committee positions.

We would like to thank Louise Gourlay, who is stepping down from her position as General Member, for all her time, help and support during her time on the committee.

We are pleased to welcome Ryan Hamilton, who was voted onto the committee as a General Member.

All other committee positions remain unchanged for another year:

  1. President – Rod Smith

  2. Secretary – Andrew Bussey

  3. Treasurer – Andrew Paul

  4. General Member – Allan Anderson

  5. General Member – Amy Butler

  6. General Member – Jim Lawrence

  7. General Member – Ryan Hamilton

Club Finances

Treasurer Andrew Paul provided members with a brief update on the club’s financial position.

For the year, the club recorded:

  • Gross income: £9,194.43 (excluding tuck shop income)

  • Combined expenditure: £10,307.40

  • Net position: -£1,112.97

The tuck shop generated a profit of £487, which will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support. Along with additional donations, a total of £661 will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support and Social Bite.

The committee would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the club and supported our fundraising efforts throughout the year.

Membership Fees

Members also discussed whether to increase the nightly club fee to £6 or instead increase the annual membership fee to £30.

Following a vote, the decision was to increase the annual club membership fee to £30.

Constitution Changes

A small number of changes to the club constitution were also discussed and approved.

The first change is to update the wording relating to social media, making it more general rather than referring to specific platforms. This will allow the constitution to remain relevant as social media platforms and online communication continue to evolve.

A further addition was agreed regarding committee attendance. If a committee member misses three or more meetings, they will be asked to step down from the committee so that another member can take on the role. It was recognised that personal circumstances should be taken into consideration, and these will be discussed on an individual basis.

Club Conduct and Behaviour

The AGM also provided an opportunity to discuss general behaviour and expectations within the club.

We reminded members of the importance of how we speak to and interact with one another, and how comments or conversations can sometimes be perceived differently by others.

The G3 Club is a community, and we want everyone to feel welcome and comfortable when attending. We would therefore encourage all members to be mindful of how we communicate with each other and to show the same respect and consideration that we would expect in return.

G3 Show 2028

Finally, we discussed the possibility of resurrecting the G3 Show in 2028.

The idea was met with a very positive response at the AGM, and we will now begin exploring what would be involved in bringing the show back.

Over the coming months, we will be reaching out to clubs, vendors and potential venues to gauge interest and begin looking at the practicalities of organising the event.

It is still early days, but there was certainly some good feeling around the idea, and we look forward to seeing where the discussions take us.

Next AGM

The next G3 Club AGM will take place at 7:00pm on Tuesday, 28 September 2027.

Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s AGM and to all our members for their continued support of the G3 Club.
