PATHFINDER RPG
Roll the dice. Tell the story. Become the hero… or the person who accidentally sets the tavern on fire.
Ever wanted to create your own hero and then throw them into a world of monsters, magic, treasure and questionable decisions? Pathfinder is a tabletop roleplaying game where you and your friends create an adventure together. You might play a brave warrior, a mysterious wizard, a sneaky rogue, a divine champion or pretty much anything else you can imagine. One player takes the role of the Game Master (GM), creating the world, playing the monsters and characters you meet, and guiding the story as your party sets off on its latest adventure.
The great thing about Pathfinder is that you aren't following a fixed story — you are creating one. The GM might tell you that a mysterious stranger has arrived in town, a ruined castle has been discovered, or something rather unpleasant has started living in the local forest. What happens next is up to the players. You can investigate, fight, negotiate, sneak around, ask completely inappropriate questions, or come up with a plan that the GM absolutely did not expect. Dice rolls help decide what happens, but your imagination is what really drives the game.
Pathfinder has a huge amount of depth for players who want it. You can customise your character with different ancestries, classes, skills, spells, feats and equipment, allowing you to create a character that feels genuinely yours. But don't worry if all those words sound slightly terrifying at first! Nobody expects a new player to know the rulebook backwards. The club is a great place to learn, and experienced players and GMs can help you get started. Half the fun is discovering what your character can do as you play.
Most importantly, Pathfinder is about sitting around a table with friends and making memories. Your character might become a legendary hero, save an entire kingdom, discover a priceless magical artefact… or spend twenty minutes trying to convince a shopkeeper that buying a suspiciously cursed sword is a perfectly sensible idea. You never quite know where an adventure will go. So grab some dice, create a character, and get ready to see what happens — because in Pathfinder, the greatest stories are usually the ones nobody planned.
