A Quieter Night at the Club… But No Less Fun!

Last night at the club was a little quieter than some of our busier evenings, but if you walked around the room, you certainly wouldn't have thought so. The tables were all occupied, dice were rolling, battles were raging, and plenty of stories were unfolding across a wonderfully eclectic mix of games.

There was a little bit of everything on offer.

In one corner, the grim darkness of the far future was alive and well as Warhammer 40,000 (11th Edition) brought its usual combination of armies, tactics and spectacular destruction to the tabletop. Not far away, things were considerably more fantastical, with Lord of the Rings: Battle Companies taking players into the realms of Middle-earth for some smaller-scale fantasy warfare.

40k (11th Edition)

If the future of Warhammer wasn't quite grim enough, Team Yankee took things in a different direction entirely, with battles inspired by a WWIII that thankfully exists only on the tabletop. Meanwhile, Sovereign: Bretwalda transported players back to the Dark Ages, where kingdoms were being fought over with considerably less advanced technology and considerably more pointy things!

There was also some unfinished business over at Giant Killer Robots, where the Diamondback faction apparently had a bit of a grudge against the Thunderhappy faction. Diplomacy clearly wasn't an option, so the robots had to settle things the old-fashioned way — with giant robots and explosions.

GKR: Heavy hitters

Elsewhere, players were heading into space with Galactic Cruise, while our ongoing Pathfinder campaign continued its adventures underground, with more dungeon delving and whatever dangers were waiting around the next corner.

And finally, Godtear provided a completely different kind of evening, with a full-on 1v1 clash taking place in another world. No armies, no sprawling campaign — just two players facing off and seeing who could come out on top.

So yes, it might have been a quieter night by club standards, but quieter certainly doesn't mean uneventful. From Middle-earth to the far future, from the Dark Ages to distant worlds, there were battles being fought and adventures being had all across the room.

And really, that's what makes club nights so much fun — you never quite know what worlds you'll find when you walk through the door. 🎲⚔️🚀

Another great night of gaming, good company and questionable tactical decisions!
