A Broadside of Games!

On Saturday the 6th of June, seven intrepid club-members travelled up the M80 to Falkirk to attend the Carronade wargames show, hosted as ever by Falkirk District Wargames Club.

We were debuting our new combat sports game, Gyroball Gymkhana, in which six corporate-sponsored teams of six on foot and monocycles compete for points, glory and this quarter’s performance evaluation. We ran several sessions through the day for gamers of all ages

We’re proud to announce that our game followed in the footsteps of 2023’s Xtreme-G Racing and won Best Participation Game on the day. Many thanks to Drew and his hard work in developing the game!

As well as our own presence, there were dozens of other fantastic looking games on display. From huge armies facing each other across ancient battlefields to a massive table right at the front door commemorating the 82nd anniversary of D-Day to space hulks in the grim dark future there were games for all tastes.

Here’s a selection of photos that we managed to grab during the day. A new venue meant a new layout, with a variety of rooms to explore, so this isn’t everything that was there on the day.

Our thanks to Falkirk District Wargames Club for hosting the event and inviting us along, to all the other clubs and traders and of course to all the punters who visited throughout the day for making this year’s show another success. Our apologies to anyone we missed – there was a lot to see, and not enough time to see it all!
